Botanical Imagination Sessions are one-on-one guided experiences that support people in reconnecting with imagination as an ancestral technology — a practical human capacity used across cultures to orient, reflect, and navigate change.

Long before modern psychology or clinical frameworks, imagination, story, image, and symbol were primary tools for understanding inner experience and responding to the world. In this lineage, imagination is not fantasy or escape — it is a way of gathering information, noticing pattern, and cultivating relationship with one’s internal landscape.

These sessions approach imagination as a skill of inquiry that can be practiced with clarity, agency, and respect for nervous-system capacity. A selected plant serves as a steady point of reference, helping anchor attention and support symbolic awareness without emotional processing, interpretation being imposed, or spiritual intervention.

Rather than offering prescriptions or meanings, the work centers personal sense-making. What arises is treated as contextual, relational, and specific to the individual.

In a Botanical Imagination Session, participants may:

  • Explore imagination as a grounded method of internal inquiry

  • Engage symbolic and sensory awareness through relationship with a plant

  • Notice imagery, metaphor, and internal responses without analysis or urgency

  • Strengthen trust in their own capacity to interpret and integrate experience

  • Develop a repeatable way of listening inward with steadiness and respect

Session Structure

Each session is held within a clear, contained format that prioritizes pacing and consent.

Sessions include:

  • An opening orientation to establish focus and context

  • A guided, internally focused imaginative inquiry

  • Time for reflection and meaning-making through conversation or journaling

  • Practical aftercare guidance to support integration into daily life

Aftercare emphasizes accessible supports such as rest, sensory grounding, creative reflection, and pacing — recognizing that insight settles through ordinary rhythms, not intensity.

Practice Orientation

Botanical Imagination Sessions are educational and exploratory in nature.

They are not therapy, do not involve emotional processing, and do not include plant ingestion or psychoactive substances.

This work is especially supportive for artists, creatives, educators, and others seeking a steady, respectful way to engage their inner world without bypassing the body or overwhelming the nervous system.

No prior experience with plants, visualization, or symbolic study is required.

Each session stands alone and may be returned to as a repeatable practice.
